Oak Grove is among the oldest public cemeteries in Georgia. It’s not well-known outside the area, nor does it often appear on lists of Georgia’s historic burial grounds, but it’s an anchor of the St. Marys historic district and is a great place to have a picnic or spend a leisurely hour or two. Just remember to bring insect repellent!
This cemetery is truly a hidden gem, even older than Bonaventure in Savannah and equally interesting.
