Johnson House, Circa 1880, Johnson Hammock

This is the last surviving double-pen house on Sapelo and among the oldest surviving houses on the island.

Bryan, I enjoy your beautiful photographs of coastal Georgia. I especially treasure the photographs from Sapelo. I was fortunate to work at the Marine Institute in the early 1960’s. Your photographs bring back mane pleasant memories. It is sad to see many buildings in Hog Hammock falling into decay. I wish it would be possible for residents and SCAD to work at some restorations.
