This marina, located off Georgia Highway 99 just north of Ridgeville was known for years as Blue & Hall’s Marina. The road here leading to the North River is known as Blue-n-Hall Road. Missy Brandt notes that this area was the site of a skirmish between Union and Confederate troops in 1862.
Separating Sapelo Island from the mainland marshes and Wolf Island, Doboy Sound is an important estuary to recreational visitors and researchers, as well. The ferry route from Meridian to Sapelo Island or vice versa is one of the most pleasant excursions on the immediate Georgia coast.
